Great DIY window screen kit solution…..
We recently moved to a new home that has a number of casement windows with no fly screens for windows. This wouldn’t be a problem, except that whenever we open our windows we almost instantly attract flies and insects. After doing a bit of research, it seemed like most of our options were going to be pricey with custom window screens needed to be made.
But then we stumbled across these DIY window screens, and are happy we did! I installed each screen in about 20 minutes. So far, they’re all holding up well. Although we haven’t tried to remove the magnetic strip that’s stuck to the window frame, the screen itself is easy to remove and reattach if needed.
Best of all, they work a treat – we can open the windows without having flies and insects invade our space. Definitely recommended for casement windows.

It’s a great product when completed, with a very good seal. One has to be careful to get the size right before assembling, and it’s pays to measure twice and cut once, so to speak. The instructions are the right way to do it, don’t be tempted to assemble on the ground – hanging the netting and pushing the locking border on ensures the size and fit are right and you can adjust as you go. We left it a bit loose in places so that it could stay on when the windows are closed and the netting could bulge around the latches. We have had aluminium screens before, and these are much better.

The screens look fantastic! Reading the instructions properly is crucial. Take care when cutting the pieces and putting it all together. It’s important to make sure it is all straight otherwise it won’t fit the window properly. A really great product delivered in a timely manner.

Thank you. Yes I do like the window screen. Very clever and fixes a problem we have because of our wooden louvres which make it impossible to clean the window.
The only comment our staller mentioned, would be that if you could roll rather than fold the actual mesh screen – folding it leaves creases and it’s more difficult to install and stretch. Just a thought!

Very happy with the magnetic screen. Have had a cheaper one in the past where it only came with a few strips of the double sided Velcro tape so it wasn’t a snug fit and was always falling off. This one comes with enough tape for all of the screen. The cheap one – the magnets weren’t very good – this one you can hear them clicking strongly into place. Plus, on the cheap one, the magnets all fell down and bunched up down the bottom making it ineffective.
I haven’t had this one long enough to test that but am confident that because it is better quality, that it won’t happen.

Very happy! I had a tricky window, as I had plantation shutters installed and could not retrofit a flyscreen without considerable hassle and expense. I was able to build and install the flatscreen myself behind the plantation shutters and I can finally open my windows without bugs coming in. Highly recommend and I wish I had thought of this option years ago.

I have installed my magnetic screen as intended and wanted to tell you how pleased I am with both your product and the result.
On the warm evenings/nights we have had recently, the midge screen mesh worked exactly as I had hoped by keeping them out of my house but still allowing the door to be opened for the breeze.
I have not finished off the edges of the screen quite yet. Thought I would let it settle into place and weather just a bit before cutting the edges exactly but it makes no difference to the performance.
Once again, thanks so much for supplying the material for my project and to the specifications as requested.
Soon I intend to replace the screens on my PVC windows. I assume your product will work as well with those and will be making contact to ascertain a quote per number and size.

Fast delivery, good service. Product is easy to handle and assemble. The one issue I have is that the stick on strip has come off in some places even though I thoroughly cleaned the surface before applying. Have had to use contact adhesive on these spots.

We bought screens that had to be customised to fit our non-standard doors. The whole process was very efficient and the screens look great on the door and are very effective. The two sections close very neatly along the line of magnets.

You use better than a 26/6 stapler, but you cant buy that in Sydney. A standard stapler really doesn’t do the job and means the finished product is clunky and unsightly. They really should have an installation video. Very hard to nail the trimming so there’s no buckle in the screen…now I have to undo all the work and try to shave off 3mm and start again.
After sales is good, but there’s only so much they can do. Lots of left over materials, enough screen but not enough tape to do a second screen. Wish they sold an extension option when you buy 2mx2m so I can make 2x (2mx.75m) screens.
